A unique journey
I pursued an Architecture degree thinking it was my passion. But I discovered my true interest lies not in designing buildings, but in the exhilarating process of transforming ideas into reality while learning on the go.
Graduating in the middle of the Great Recession with a degree in a shrinking field, my employment options were to take a temp job and wait around until the economy improved, or search for opportunities to grown and learn. Not being one to sit around, I was able to break into Marketing leveraging my background in design.
What began as designing for traditional print media progressed into designing for digital. As I continued to learn and grow, designing for digital evolved into building and managing digital platforms including email, web, CRM, and merchant systems.
Throughout my journey I was afforded, and took advantage of, several opportunities to step out from behind-the-scenes to manage and execute marketing campaigns of various types across a wide variety of traditional and digital media. Along the way I was able to grow my business skills through engagement with internal stakeholders and a wide variety of clients.
Over the course of my career I’ve been fortunate enough to encounter several growth opportunities, both prescribed and – to use an old cliché – by making lemonade out of lemons. I’ve developed a passion for marketing and digital operations and continue to search for growth opportunities both personally and professionally while, most importantly, having fun along the way.
